LightCycler® 480 Multiwell Plates 96, white are half-skirted, white polypropylene reaction devices supplied with a bar-code label. Their dimensions (inner/outer well geometry) and material are designed to achieve optimized assay conditions on the LightCycler® 480 Instrument, 96-well for reaction volumes from 10 to 100 µl and on the LightCycler® 96 Instrument for reaction volumes from 10 to 50 µl.

Each pack of LightCycler® 480 Multiwell Plates 96 contains 5 x 10 plates in five re-sealable, non-sterile plastic bags. Sealing foils are supplied in a separate box also contained in the plate pack.
Note: Because of the special characteristics of the LightCycler® 480 Instrument's thermal block, optimal assay performance according to the LightCycler® 480 System's specifications can only be achieved when LightCycler® 480 Multiwell Plates are used.
Sealing foils compatible with LightCycler® 480 Multiwell Plates 96 and LightCycler® 480 Multiwell Plates 384 are also available separately.
LightCycler® 480 Multiwell Plates 96, white are used for real-time PCR and melting curve analysis applications on the LightCycler® 480 Instrument, 96-well version, and on LightCycler® 96 Instrument.
The LightCycler® 480 System includes a high-performance thermal block based on heating and cooling principles novel to the field of PCR applications. The novel design of the thermal block also requires tailor-made reaction devices which match the exact geometry of the block and permit optimal heat transfer.
The LightCycler® 96 System includes a cutting-edge, low-mass thermal block design that offers excellent well-to-well homogeneity for a broad range of temperatures, and access to gradient features. The electroforming production process allows a perfect fit of the 96-well plate to the block and avoids air cushions in between both.
